20m Prototype due for testing end May 2004

Following the feasibility study OWL/UMITEK have received funding from the Carbon Trust to work with NaREC and UMIST to build a 20m model of the WaveMaster device. The project started on Nov 1st 2003. Phase 1 of the project involved design and construction of the device. The device was designed by the project team taking into account the data collected during the feasibility test programme.

Bendalls Engineering was commissioned to fabricate the device at its facilities in Carlisle (photo1, photo2). Design and construction of the structure has now been completed and the structure is due to be shipped to the NaREC test facilities at Blyth for assembly of the valves and power off-take components prior to testing in the wave dock.
